140-character tweets may soon be able to follow and hear their idols chatter over a new online service. Voice microblogging service Bubbly, which allows people to send Twitter-like short sound messages, has grown to reach more than 12 million clients in Asia in just 18 months and plans to take the service global this year. Bubbly, a service of startup Bubble Motion, currently has 75 staff based in Singapore. It sends users a text message with a link to a short audio message from people they are following. The message is played back as a voice call. To enable that, Bubble Motion has struck deals with local mobile phone operators for the service and for sharing revenues. Karisma’s daughter Samaira was apparently thrilled when shown pictures of her aunt Kareena’s wax statue. “Her first reaction was, ‘can we get this (statue) home?’ So I said, ‘no, it’s going to be in the museum.’ But she couldn’t understand the connection,” says Kareena.
Finally, The actor’s wax statute will be unveiled on October 27 in Blackpool, UK, followed by a London sojourn the next day. A Bollywood studio has dismissed a complaint from a group representing oppressed low-caste Hindus, asking for a top actor to be removed from a starring role in a new film because of his background.
Prakash Jah Productions said a Dalit activist group had asked for Saif Ali Khan to be dropped from the film “Aarakshan” (Reservation).
The group said it was “vehemently opposed” to Khan’s casting as a Dalit “because he is of Muslim royal heritage”, which made him unsuitable for the role.
India’s 160 million Dalits were once known as “untouchables” and given the most menial jobs. Many still face discrimination, are forbidden to use communal wells and excluded from social events, despite anti-discrimination laws. (more…)

The 68-year-old actor is currently shooting for Puri Jagannath’s “Bbuddah – Hoga Terra Baap” in Mumbai and in between the shooting, he had managed to watch the royal wedding ceremony.

NEW DELHI: Bollywood star Anupam Kher, who is supporting Anna Hazare’s fast on Lokpal Bill, has appealed to master blaster Sachin Tendulkar, Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan to support the movement against corruption.

Addressing the gathering of protesters in Delhi, Anupam Kher said that the three icons have a huge fan following in the country and their support will help Hazare’s fight against corruption.

Heaping praise on Anna Hazare, Anupam Kher said that after Mahatma Gandhi he was the only person in the country who could say with pride ‘my life is my message‘.

Anupam Kher reacted strongly to government’s rejection of two key demands put up by protesters and expressed surprise as to how the government could turn a blind eye to a movement that was gaining in strength with every passing day.

He compared the government with the villain in Bollywood movies, who, high on power, refused to see the reality on ground.

He said the politicians were behaving like ostriches trying to bury their heads into the sand. But such is the force of this movement that these politicians will be forced to face the reality.

The Bollywood veteran also had a word of caution for the media. Referring to reports of division in the ranks of protesters, Anupam Kher said that journalists should report about the movement with responsibility.

Bollywood mega star Amitabh Bachchan’s happiness knows no bounds these days as Indian cricket team has not just managed to win World Cup 2011 but also busted actor’s long standing superstition.

Interestingly, Big B had a long standing belief that whenever he watched Indian cricket team play, they always ended up losing the match.
