In fact I remember penning a piece around the same lines exactly a year ago – Super six in charge of Bollywood today where the choices, though topped by Kareena and Katrina, were still much wider. There were Priyanka Chopra and Aishwarya Rai in close contention for that No. 3 slot while Deepika Padukone and Kangna Ranaut were fighting it out to make their presence felt in Top-5 as well. While the top order remains intact, seems like there is some reshuffle round the corner when it comes to the other slots. Singer turned actor Ali Zafar has been making waves in Bollywood with his very first Bolly flick Tere Bin Laden.
The cute looking actor plans to do the same with his next, Mere Brother Ki Dulhan. The Yash Raj Film, which also stars Katrina Kaif and Imran Khan in the lead, is one film that Ali is eagerly looking forward to release.
The actor has sung 3 songs in the film and is sure that the numbers will be chartbusters. However, by doing Bollywood films Ali is not only trying to make a mark for himself in India, but he also has the agenda of bridging the gap between India and his home country Pakistan. (more…)

Imran Khan is having a lot of fun working with Ali Zafar: supposed enmity, Ali Zafar, Imran Khan, Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, onscreen brothers, Ali surfaced, off-screen, sources stating, things are different, shocked, Pakistani Prince of Pop, lot of fun

Much has been said about the supposed enmity between the Bollywood heartthrob, Imran Khan and Pakistani Prince of Pop Ali Zafar. Reports of the tiff between Imran and Ali surfaced from the film sets of ‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan‘ with sources stating that the onscreen brothers are not getting along well off-screen.
However, we have just found out things are different and Imran Khan is having a lot of fun working with Ali. Even, Ali Zafar was shocked to hear the rumours and didn’t know where they started. In an interview with an Indian tabloid, Imran praised Ali’s dry sense of humor and said that he’s a really funny guy.
“Ali Zafar is playing my brother and I’ve been having a lot of fun working with him. It turns out he’s a really funny guy in real life! He has a really dry, deadpan sense of humor, and really enjoys messing with people, kind of like Punit (director of I Hate Luv Storys). So half the time I’m laughing, the other half of the time I’m begging him to stop before someone punches him. Again, like Punit.”
Yash Raj Films’, Mere Brother Ki Dulhan has already generated a lot of interest in the masses and is one of the most anticipated movies this year. The film which completes its shooting schedule soon, is slated to release in theatres worldwide on 9th September 2011.

They have both denied it, but rumours of Ali Zafar and Imran Khan snubbing each other like bitter exes at a new year eve’s party have not yet died down. Which probably makes shooting together for Mere Brother Ki Dulhan a real chore, but probably helps emphasize tension between them as they both fall for the same girl (in the film). The newly-weds Imran Khan and Avantika Malik had a dream wedding reception hosted by Aamir Khan and his wife Kiran Rao. The who’s who of Bollywood attended the event.

BREAK KE BAAD released a Friday ago and is now almost extinct at the box office, what with newer releases (KHELEN HUM JEE JAAN SEY, RAKHT CHARITRA 2, PHAS GAYE RE OBAMA) occupying majority of screens in multiplexes all over. The film didn’t see many favourable reviews coming its way on its release. Audience reception was so-so as well and eventually there wasn’t much escalation in foot falls as this Kunal Kohli production further went downhill with every passing day. Meanwhile, there were talks about Break Ke Baad managing to break even due to its satellite rights. Now while this is great news for the makers, the fact remains that it is hardly great enough news for Bollywood in general. Let aside audience being happy, one can be rest assured that even Imran Khan and Deepika Padukone won’t be highly pleased with the theatrical business of the film even though the makers made money. Reason being that any actor would crave for attention with their fan base stepping into theaters to watch their films rather than see them for the first (and only) time straight on television.
