For all you girls reading this, a little secret about your favourite Bollywood hero — Ranbir Kapoor is totally alone at home with nobody to watch over him. And he himself says that he is loving it to the hilt.
“I am home alone. There’s nobody at home. Mom has gone to see my sister (Riddhima Sahni, who just had a baby) and dad is shooting out of town. So it’s like chilling at home with nobody to see what I am doing. It’s good sometimes,” he winks.
Sitting in his drawing room, which is scattered with memorabilia collected by Raj Kapoor over the years, Ranbir said that these days every day is a lazy day for him. “Right now, it’s waking up and having chai and then directly going into a marathon movie session and may be meeting up with my friends. I do take out my sports car for a spin on the sea-link sometimes.”
There is no less curiosity about his social life. And when you prod Ranbir about the Casanova image people seem to identify him with, his face immediately changes its contour. Ranbir rues, “It’s so sad when I am asked to same question about who I am dating over and over again. This means I cannot have friends and cannot go out for a movie or to a dinner with them. Because if there’s any girl in my friend circle then I will linked with her. I want a normal life and I am a normal kid.”
Okay, so what’s happening to the sought-after physique he’s worked on? Ranbir seems confident of his body metabolism rate. “I am not gymming too much these days. I don’t have six-packs and I don’t intend to have them either. I go to the gym, but there’s no heavy workout for me. I don’t intend to pile muscles. I like lean bodies. Moreover, the films that I have just shot and am shooting for right now (Rockstar and Barfee) require me to have a lean body just like your guy-next-door,” added the actor.
Talking about his films, Ranbir informed, “Rockstar is a about a small-time guy making it big in the pop world. Barfee is pure humour, on the lines of Mr Bean, but it is not Mr Bean, mind you.”

New Delhi: Bollywood heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor has shot a promotional video for kids’ film Chillar Party, directed by Vikas Bahl.He plays himself in the video, but his look is that of a tapori (hoodlum) – inspired by one of the characters in the film.The song has a very Mumbai feel and is a mix of street instruments, local voices and dialect. It has been sung by music composer Amit Trivedi and his mother, while choreographers Bosco-Caeser have mixed street dancing with contemporary style for it.”Ranbir Kapoor saw the film and loved it. That’s when we requested him if he would do an item song for the kids and he loved the idea, and readily agreed,” said a source from the production unit.Chillar Party is set for a May release.

The actor, who’s become a mama after sister Riddhima Kapoor Sahni delivered a baby girl recently, just can’t get enough of his niece.
We hear that the actor is completely obsessed with the little girl – Samara – and spends all of his free time playing with her. Riddhima had come to her parents’ house in Mumbai for the delivery and the timing couldn’t have been better for Ranbir. The actor is done with the Delhi schedule of his film Rockstar with Imtiaz Ali and therefore can afford to be at home in Mumbai to be with his little angel.

Bollywood actors and filmmakers are showing full support for social activist Anna Hazare’s movement against corruption.
While most talked about it at public events or on social networking sites, some like Anupam Kher and Farah Khan went the extra mile, and flew down to New Delhi to participate in the protest at Jantar Mantar.

India has a huge market for animation films but the , homegrown industry has to move beyond mythological themes, says talented actor Ranvir Shorey, who has just given the voiceover for the Hindi version of the 3D Hollywood film “RIO“.
“India has a huge market for animation films, but is yet unexplored. Hollywood has a festival out of every release of the animation film that they do. It’s like a carnival for the grown-ups and for the kids,” Ranvir told IANS in an interview.
“I don’t think we have managed that in the Indian film industry as yet,” he added.
The actor of films as diverse as “Khosla Ka Ghosla” and “ Singh is Kinng” is certain that homegrown animation would definitely have an audience if it improved.
“It’s like the egg and chicken story, you know. How is Hollywood coming out consistently with good products — right from ‘Jungle Book‘ in the 60s? They are cultivating animation and it’s not an overnight thing,” Ranvir said.
“So we need to do something similar here, you know. They have to find a digital voice, which is not happening right now.”
“What’s happening is we locally produce either like a TV serial or like a Bollywood film with singing and dancing and not doing a good animation film of it,” Ranvir said.
He said there was need to improve the way animation was made here instead of blaming the audience.
“Homegrown animation needs to improve… The audience is always ready for something good,” he added.
Production houses need to depart from Indian mythologies and create something new.
“They always go for mythologies because it already has a popular base. They are so scared of having something completely different and original,” Ranvir said.
“Animations also need budgets. We need somebody with the right script and the producers who have faith to mount that kind of production because we definitely have the talent in India. We need more entrepreneurship from the production sector,” he added.
The actor always longed to be a part of animation films, a dream fulfilled by the chance to do the voiceover for “RIO”.
“I was always very keen to be part of animation films. Finally I got a chance. It was a fantastic experience. I gave voiceover for the character Nico and Vinay (Pathak) for (Pedro),” Ranvir said.
“It’s a nice comedy. I would like to do more voiceovers like this,” he added.
Ranvir and his wife Konkana Sen-Sharma became the proud parents of a son recently.
“I am very happy becoming a father. We are settling into a new life,” he said.
The couple tied the knot last year and Konkana gave birth to their first child March 15 this year in a South Mumbai hospital.
Indian animation films have tended to focus overwhelmingly on mythologies such as “Arjun – The Warrior Prince” or “Lav Kush – The Warrior Twins“.
