Deepika Padukone celebrates this Diwali in her new home

Mumbai:Talking to a daily about her Diwali plans, Deepika said, “A s a child back home in Bangalore, I would wake up in the morning, light diyas, decorate the entrance of our house with rangoli and wear new, traditional clothes. It was a time to catch up with friends and relatives. We`d run to the terrace of our building and light firecrackers and look forward to mom`s traditional Mangalorean sweet dishes.” Bollywood siren Deepika Padukone celebrates this Diwali in her new home with family and friends.
Apparently, this Diwali is special for Deepika as she revealed, “This year is special for me because it`s the first Diwali in my new home. Sri Lankan beauty Jacqueline Fernandez will be seen replacing Sonakshi in Race 2

Immediately a week reverse, the action crowded sequel to the movie contest was in the information for the move in its creation date to accommodate foremost lady Deepika Padukone in the film. Well, the film, which was initially supposed to star Sonakshi Sinha along with Deepika, has undergone yet another change in the casting department.
The latest is that the beauty Jacqueline Fernandez will be seen replacing Sonakshi in Race 2. Speaking to Ramesh Taurani, we are told, “Yes, Jacqueline has been roped in to replace Sonakshi, as there were some date problems. In fact, we had postponed the film earlier and hence Sonakshi had date problems as they were clashing with her shoot dates for Dabanng 2. Besides we think that Jacqueline will be perfect for the role and also the fact remains that she is a good actress.”
About the film being altered to suit Jacqueline, Taurani says, “No, we haven’t done any such changes to suit Jacqueline, the film and the script remain the same as before. We will commence shooting in the first week on November and are looking to release the film in November 2012.”

Saif dropped from “Aarakshan” because he is of Muslim royal heritage


A Bollywood studio has dismissed a complaint from a group representing oppressed low-caste Hindus, asking for a top actor to be removed from a starring role in a new film because of his background.
Prakash Jah Productions said a Dalit activist group had asked for Saif Ali Khan to be dropped from the film “Aarakshan” (Reservation).
The group said it was “vehemently opposed” to Khan’s casting as a Dalit “because he is of Muslim royal heritage”, which made him unsuitable for the role.
India’s 160 million Dalits were once known as “untouchables” and given the most menial jobs. Many still face discrimination, are forbidden to use communal wells and excluded from social events, despite anti-discrimination laws. (more…)
