Bollywood:The actress Namrata Shirodkar who was known firstly for her supporting roles in movies, gave up her career when Namrata married Tollywood star, Mahesh Babu, in 2005 and has since established in Hyderabad. Now, after six years since working in Bollywood, the otherwise reserved and media shy Namrata had a candid conversation with Vickey Lalwani, revealing why she gave up her acting career and her life as the wife of a renowned actor.She made her Bollywood debut in 1998 with a small role in the super hit film Jab Pyaar Kisise Hota Hai, starring Salman Khan and Twinkle Khanna. And from then, Namrata Shirodkar went on to make a name for herself in the industry.
Would you say that you are living a life of luxury, since your marriage to the southern superstar Mahesh Babu?
I had many luxuries in life, even before I tied the knot (smiles). No, my life has not become more comfortable. Yes, Mahesh is a big star. Switzerland inaugurated a train named Yash Chopra

 

Ever thought of reliving the time Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol spent together while shooting the song Zara sa jhoom loon… in a Swiss train from the film, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ). Now, Bollywood fans can actually go that distance and not return disappointed. Jungfra u Railways in Switzerland recently inaugurated a train named after the Bollywood veteran Yash Chopra. Complete with his signature and name on a signboard, the train was launched by the filmmaker in the presence of Jungfrau Railways CEO Urs Kessler in Switzerland on Friday. (more…)

MUMBAI: She has been honoured with Padma Shri now and Bollywood actress Kajol, who is among this year’s recipients of the India’s fourth highest civilian award, is on top of the world.
“It’s an honour and a pleasure when you are selected for the Padma Shri and I thank all those who thought me worthy of it. I am very, very happy with the way this year has started,” Kajol said.
