The indefatigable newsmaker is all set to play a Jat athlete, a national-level sprinter to boot, in debutant direct Afzal Ahmad Rizvi’s ‘Lucky Unlucky’. And she’s taking the role in the light-hearted romantic comedy, dead seriously. Glam girl Mallika Sherawat will play a Jat sprinter in an upcoming movie.Taking a cue from Farhan Akhtar who plays sprinter Milkha Singh in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s upcoming film, a special trainer has been hired to make Sherawat fit enough for the role of a Haryanvi national running-champ. Actress Mallika Sherawat is happy that ‘a lot’ of Bollywood heroines are walking the red carpet at the ongoing Cannes Film Festival. Speaking just before leaving for the film festival, the actor says that it means that the world is waking up to Bollywood movies.

In what seems like an open challenge at the throne of the two hottest Bollywood item queens, Mallika Sherawat danced to an item song at Yashraj Studios, whose words blatantly mocked Katrina and Malaika’s twin triumphs.
Mallika sang, “Munni bhi maani aur Sheila bhi maani, Shalu ke thumke ki duniya deewani.”
