Arriving from London, Bollywood actor Bipasha Basu was Thursday asked to cough up Rs.12,000 for excess baggage by the Customs at the airport here.Customs officials said Bipasha was not detained but simply asked to pay for excess baggage.‘While her baggage was being checked, some items were found in excess. MUMBAI: Bollywood actor Minissha Lamba was detained for several hours at Mumbai airport on Wednesday as she flew in from the Cannes Film Festival. She was being held for carrying undeclared jewellery, which the Air Intelligence Unit claimed was worth Rs 50 lakh.
Lamba was in Cannes to attend the premier of Woody Allen’s film, ‘Midnight in Paris’ and had been invited by the filmmakers, an officer said. As soon as Lamba landed in India, she was detained by the AIU sleuths for trying to clear customs without declaring the jewellery. (more…)
